XYC S 02-004 Water Miscible Sliding Dispersion
XYC S 02-004 is a water-miscible sliding dispersion developed for windshield wiper blades made from synthetic rubber, natural rubber and other elastomer components. This wiper blade coating is designed to optimize friction behaviour and support a consistent wiping pattern under changing operating conditions.
After application and drying, the product forms a dry, flexible sliding film. As a rubber sliding lubricant, it helps prevent stick-slip movement and reduce friction between contacting surfaces. Friction Reduction and Anti Stick Slip Performance

Application Process and Film Thickness
XYC S 02-004 can be applied through several coating methods, allowing it to be incorporated into different production processes. For spraying, the product information specifies an approximate feed pressure of 2 bar and a nozzle diameter of approximately 0.8 mm. Use oil-free and water-free compressed air.
For online application, the dispersion can be applied to warm or hot wiper blades at temperatures up to 150°C. The coating can then dry and cure at room temperature or at higher temperatures.
Thiswiper blade coating should be applied at the recommended film thickness of approximately 5–10 µm. Where stronger adhesion is required, plasma pretreatment of the rubber components may be considered according to the original product guidance.

XYC S 02-004 is a black, water-miscible sliding dispersion with a density of approximately 1.1 g/cm³ at 20°C and a pH value of approximately 8. The reported runout time is about 22.5 seconds using a flow cup with a 4 mm nozzle.
The specified service temperature range is -40°C to +100°C. The estimated yield is approximately 12 m²/L at a tribo-film thickness of 10 µm. The stated shelf life is approximately six months when stored in an unopened original container in a dry, frost-free place.
Protect the product from freezing. If frozen, allow it to thaw at room temperature before use. Confirm coating adhesion, drying conditions and compatibility with the actual rubber formulation before production use.
