MoS2 lubricant coating

XYC TM 06-111 1KG MoS2 Bonded Lubricant Coating for High Load Metal Components

XYC TM 06-111 1KG
XYC TM 06-111 is a thermosetting MoS₂ bonded lubricant coating for metal components exposed to high loads. This MoS2 lubricant coating forms a dry film after curing to help reduce friction, wear and corrosion. As a dry film lubricant, it supports clean assembly and reduced sticking, while its anti wear coating function helps protect metal sliding surfaces.

XYC TM 06-111 1KG MoS2 Bonded Lubricant Coating for High Load Metal Components

XYC TM 06-111 Thermosetting Bonded Lubricant Coating

XYC TM 06-111 is a thermosetting bonded coating based on molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) and an organic binding agent. It is designed for metal components requiring reliable lubrication, wear resistance and corrosion protection under high loads.

ThisMoS2 lubricant coating is supplied as a ready-to-use fluid product. After application and hardening, it forms a bonded lubricating film on the component surface. The resulting dry film lubricant helps reduce dependence on fluid lubrication and supports clean handling during assembly and operation.

High Load Lubrication and Wear Protection

Metal components operating under high contact pressure can experience friction, surface wear and reduced service life. XYC TM 06-111 is designed to provide a lubricating film for demanding metal-to-metal applications.

As an anti wear coating, it helps protect sliding surfaces and supports component durability under high loads. The product information reports a friction coefficient of approximately 0.15 under specified test conditions, with no stick-slip observed during the stated test.

Corrosion Protection for Metal Components

In addition to lubrication, XYC TM 06-111 provides corrosion protection for coated metal surfaces. This makes the MoS2 lubricant coating suitable for applications where wear resistance and corrosion protection are both important.

The product information reports a salt spray test result of up to 380 hours under specified conditions using zinc-phosphated test plates and a 15 µm coating thickness. Actual corrosion performance depends on substrate preparation, film thickness and operating environment.

Clean and Dry Lubricating Film

After curing, XYC TM 06-111 forms a bonded dry film rather than relying on a freely flowing lubricant. This dry film lubricant helps reduce contamination caused by fluid lubricants and helps prevent lubricated components from sticking during automated assembly.

The coating is suitable for evaluating on fasteners, pins, pivots, lock mechanisms and other metal parts where controlled friction and clean handling are required.

Application and Curing Process

XYC TM 06-111 can be applied by immersion, spraying or brush. Stir the product thoroughly before use and filter it afterward, for example through a nylon filter with a pore size of 125–150 µm.

Before coating, the substrate must be cleaned and degreased, with all oil, grease, water, corrosion and scale removed. Phosphating or sandblasting may be considered to improve adhesion, depending on the substrate and process requirements.

For spraying, the product information specifies a feed pressure of approximately 2 bar, a spraying distance of approximately 20 cm and a nozzle diameter of 0.8 mm. Use compressed air free from oil and water. The recommended film thickness for sliding loads is 5–20 µm.

The product information states that the coating can be handled after approximately 30 minutes at a component temperature of 20°C for a layer thickness of about 5–20 µm. It also specifies curing for 30 minutes at a component temperature of 180°C. These are different process conditions and should not be treated as interchangeable. Confirm the appropriate process for the actual component and production line.

Technical Information

XYC TM 06-111 has a grey to grey-black appearance and a density of approximately 1.2 g/cm³ at 20°C. Its reported runout time is approximately 24 seconds using a flow cup with a 4 mm nozzle. The specified service temperature range is -40°C to +220°C.

The estimated coating yield is approximately 28 m²/L at a tribo-film thickness of 10 µm. The original product information lists a minimum shelf life of approximately 36 months in the unopened original container under dry, frost-free storage conditions. It also specifies storage at 20°C.

Because the product contains a flammable solvent mixture, consult the applicable safety data sheet for storage, ventilation, personal protective equipment and handling requirements.

Typical Applications

XYC TM 06-111 can be evaluated for automotive components, precision engineering parts, electrical engineering components, textile machinery, fasteners, pins, pivots, nuts, bolts, lock mechanisms and fittings.

As a MoS2 lubricant coating, it is intended for high-load metal lubrication. Its dry film lubricant properties support clean assembly and reduced sticking, while its anti wear coating function helps protect coated surfaces from wear and corrosion.
